As the University of Central Florida begins to grow in size and population, so does the alumni community. With this being a diverse community, the UCF Alumni Association wants to connect with a group that often goes unrecognized: our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender alumni. This new addition to the alumni community will present UCF with an opportunity to become more involved in the lives of the GLBT community. Through scholarships, mentoring, social events and professional networking, the GLBT chapter aims to unite students, alumni, faculty, staff, family and friends who are working together for a more inclusive future. "The university experience for GLBT students has changed drastically from when I was an FTU student. This is evident in the growth of support and services that are available now that weren't years ago. There is still much work to be done to build a community that offers all of our students the best possible success through their UCF experience and into their professional lives." Michael Freeman, Chair, GLBT Alumni Chapter.
