50 Knights proudly cheered on their team...and they weren't disappointed!
Share the Knight with President Hitt in New York City Last month, a special visit was paid to the New York UCF Alumni Chapter. More than eighty alumni and friends of the University of Central Florida gathered in the city at the University Club. Notable Knights in attendance were President John C. Hitt, Bob Holmes, Vice President of Alumni Relations and Development and CEO of the UCF Foundation, Todd Stansbury, the new Vice President and Director of Athletics and Darla Olive Talley, Director of Alumni Program, Engagement and Outreach at the UCF Alumni Association.
UCF alumni and friends in New York were overjoyed to have such a prestigious group of Knights visit as this event was unlike any other the chapter has hosted. Tom Marron, Chair of the New York UCF Alumni Chapter shared, “Both Dr. Hitt and Bob Holmes addressed the chapter to fill us in about the most current state of affairs at UCF, but needless to say it was the one-on-one contact that really left an impression on our members.” In addition, Marron expressed just one dignitary attending would have been considered a special event, but to have so many special guests at once made the evening even more spectacular.
The inaugural Share the Knight event in New York City will serve as a model for future regional outreach events. The UCF Alumni Association plans to host several more events like this over the course of the next year in Charlotte, Chicago and Washington D.C.
UCF alumus, Aaron Chilelli , '09, and representative at large of the New York UCF Alumni Chapter taught his 2nd grade class of the Scholars of South Bronx Classical Charter School the UCF Fight Song.
