Queen of B Flicks

Sarah Lieving, ’03, is quickly becoming queen “B" of the Syfy cable network’s low-budget, science-fiction movies. She has starred in The Beast of Bray Road, King of the Lost World, a remake of The Dunwich Horror and Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus. She can also be seen in this year’s upcoming Super Shark.

Sarah says she took baby steps when first getting into the business. Bit parts, like those in War of the Worlds (2005 version), Invasion of the Pod People and The Hitchhiker helped propel her into a dozen-plus movies in five years.

Though she is known for “B” movies for now, her role as the Wicked Witch of the East in the upcoming Witches of Oz, starring alongside Christopher Lloyd, Sean Astin, Mia Sara and Jeffrey Combs, could be her ticket into the A’s.
