Get Involved The Visual Arts and Design alumni chapter of UCF exists to enhance the lives of graduates from the newly named Visual Arts and Design School, inside the College of arts and Humanities. The leadership board spearheads the chapter’s involvement in UCF and local art communities connecting UCF to; public school art programs, creative companies, museums, theatres and community projects. The chapter’s relationships create and inspire support for the arts as well as the talent that creates it. The chapter’s ongoing objective is to promote and grow UCF's involvement in the local art community by dedicating time and effort through volunteering, service and involvement. Their programming goals are to appeal to the Visual Arts and Design alumni and friends, and their eclectic interests. A life-long connection to the school of Visual Arts and Design, the College of Arts and Humanities, and of course, to the University of Central Florida is essential. Visual Arts and Design Alumni Scholarship

The UCF School of Visual Arts and Design Alumni Chapter Scholarship was created in 2012 to provide financial support for students in the School of Visual Arts and Design within the College of Arts and Humanities. Canvas & Cabernet

This year, the inaugural Canvas & Cabernet event filled two ballrooms in the alumni center with  alumni, student, faculty and esteemed staff. Even Dean Jose Fernandez PhD got creative and showed his UCF pride! Nicole Faust, a UCF alumna and works for Painting with a Twist provided expert guidance to make it a memorable evening. Eclectic Knights

Eclectic Knights is an art showcase for UCF Alumni and Faculty. This year’s Eclectic Knights had a wonderful turnout of over 500 people to admire the work of our UCF Alumni and Faculty. Hosted by the Orlando Museum of Art, Eclectic Knights is a part of their 1^st Thursdays program, where local artists have a chance to submit their artwork to be showcased on a monthly basis. Eclectic Knights is the 1^st Thursday in September where black and gold spirit takes over the event in its entirety. Planned by the Visual Arts and Design Alumni Chapter, they make sure that as many UCF Alums are involved as possible! Sixty-two pieces were on display by UCF Alumni and Faculty, as well as multiple submissions from the Ideas students, which were themed in “green” and made from recyclables.  This year also hosted some very interesting features; there was a caricature artist providing complimentary caricatures for guests, a film showcase of UCF alumni films, and a “Picture Yourself as Art” area where guests sported their UCF pride, took photos on their camera phones and uploaded them to Facebook to compete for the most “likes.” The event also featured UCF alums from Foodie Catering, as well as UCF alum and talented musician Mike Dunn. This year’s best of show artist, voted on by attendees was Tina Tran for, “Untitled,” which was an exquisite piece featuring wood burning and staining.
