NEED MONEY FOR COLLEGE

The UCF Alumni Association awards more than $40,000 per year in scholarships.

A committee made up of alumni volunteers reviews the scholarship applications and determines the recipients. The scholarship winners are announced over the summer, and the monetary awards are distributed at the beginning of the fall semester.

APPLY for scholarships based on eligibility* by following these simple steps:

  1. Read all scholarship criteria and complete ALL required supporting documents
  2. Log into myUCF
  3. Select "Student Self Service"
  4. Click on "Scholarship Application" > "Home Page" > "Add New Scholarship"
  5. Complete and submit your application(s)

*Scholarships will appear in myUCF based on eligibility requirements specific to each scholarship. Criteria used to determine eligibility includes, but is not limited to: GPA, class standing and academic program. You must have attended UCF for at least one term in order to be eligible to apply or access scholarships on myUCF. If you do not see any scholarships listed in your myUCF portal, you do not meet one or more of the basic eligibility requirements (refer to FAQs for more information).

Please note: All scholarship awards are contingent upon satisfactory academic progress. During the academic year for which a scholarship is awarded (2014-2015), you must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours undergraduate/9 hours graduate) and maintain a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.

You are encouraged to apply for as many of the scholarships for which you are eligible. A separate application must be submitted for EACH scholarship for which you apply.

UCF Alumni Association Scholarships

The following details specific criteria for the scholarships offered by the UCF Alumni Association. On myUCF, you may not see all of the scholarships listed below. You will only see the scholarships for which you meet the eligibility criteria.


PLEASE SELECT A SCHOLARSHIP BELOW FOR COMPLETE DETAILS

One $2,000 award to a UCF student with senior class standing in fall 2014. This scholarship was established by the FTU 25-year reunion class of 1973.


Selection Criteria:

a) Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 AND

b) MUST have senior (90+ credit hours) class standing in fall 2014 AND

c) Demonstrate outstanding service to the university through leadership positions in Student Government, honor organizations, campus organizations and offices, etc. AND/OR

d) Demonstrate outstanding service to the community through leadership roles in impactful volunteer service projects AND/OR

e) Exemplify leadership skills within exceptional work experiences.

Up to four $1,000 awards to transfer students from any community/state college. Student(s) must transfer DIRECTLY from the Community/State College to UCF with an Associate of Arts degree with in the last year.


Selection Criteria:

a) Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 AND

b) Be a transfer student to UCF, having graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from a community/state college with in the last year AND

c) Show well-rounded involvement on community/state college campus OR outstanding service to the local community OR exceptional work experience.

One scholarship, typically $1,000, granted to a non-traditional UCF student of junior class standing as of fall 2014 who is conquering personal or family challenges.


Selection Criteria:

a) Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 AND

b) MUST have junior class standing (60-89 credit hours) as of fall 2014 AND

c) Must determine need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) AND

d) Be a non-traditional student who is conquering personal or family challenges (Examples include single parents or students serving as head of household with children, students returning to college later in life after overcoming personal adversities, or students dealing with unusual circumstances that prevented them from pursuing their degree at an earlier time in life).

Selection Criteria:

b) Must be enrolled at the University as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student AND

c) Must be a US military veteran that was discharged under other than dishonorable conditions

***NOTE: Preference may be given to applicants who served in theaters of combat operations.

b) Must be from the Tampa Bay, Florida area AND

c) Must be a current student in good standing at the University of Central Florida AND

d) Must have immediate family members (parents or siblings) that are either current students or alumni for the University of Central Florida. (Please note the name, date of birth and grad year of parent/grandparent/guardian on your activities summary.)

c) Be enrolled in the Nicholson School of Communication at UCF AND

d) Possess exemplary characteristics in academic achievement, community involvement AND/OR work experience
