She helped to set up the first hospital at Camp Wolf and was featured on ABC Prime Time News and Good Morning America for her efforts. When she returned from combat, she furthered her education with a Ph.D. in Nursing from UCF, graduating in 2010. Engaging Alumni through Continuing Education Dinners across Central Florida
The UCF College of Nursing Alumni Chapter recently hosted three continuing education dinners across Central Florida as a part of the Simply Speaking HIV Lecture Series. Alumni attended from throughout Central Florida to learn more about preventative treatments for HIV. Attendees earned one continuing nursing education unit (CNE) hour for their participation. Following the lecture, guests heard a college update from Dean Jean Leuner, learned more about how to stay connected to the UCF Alumni Association from Karen Monteleone and connected with College of Nursing development officer, Katie Korkosz, about future involvement with the CON.
